'I Feel Freer Already!': Ron Paul Fest Off to Slow but Enthusiastic Start
The commencement of the 2012 Ron Paul Festival is off to a slow but spirited start, as a couple of hundred libertarian and liberty-sympathizing enthusiasts trickle in to the Florida State Fairgrounds. The speeches and performances were set to begin at noon, but are now expected to start at around 2 p.m.
One attendee was overheard shouting, “I feel freer already!” upon entering the fairgrounds’ Expo Hall.
Vendors at the festival represent a colorful Halloween-coalition of traditionalist-conservative and libertarian Paul supporters, from the Libertarian Party to the John Birch Society, and from marketeers of precious metal currency to liberty-minded political candidates running on Republican and third–party tickets.
Sunshine State News is covering the festival full-time. Updates and photos will be forthcoming. Stay tuned!
