AFP Hammers Bill Nelson in New TV Ad

Democrat incumbent U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson is seeking a third term in November but he’s drawing fire from a conservative group which has launched a new ad against him.

On Friday, Americans for Prosperity-Florida (AFP-Florida), unveiled a new ad slamming Nelson and tying to him President Barack Obama.

“Senator Nelson has been doing President Obama’s bidding for years, drafting and voting for the $831 billion failed stimulus, the $1 trillion government health care takeover, and the botched $3 billion ‘Cash for Clunkers’ program,” insisted Slade O’Brien, the state director for AFP, in a statement on Friday. “Senator Nelson’s policies just aren't working – government waste of Floridian’s hard-earned tax dollars isn’t growing our economy, it’s destroying it.

“Floridians deserve to know the truth about Senator Nelson’s policies,” O’Brien added. “Not only did Nelson blindly support President Obama and vote to waste billions of taxpayer dollars, he also voted against lowering taxes, against a bill to stop more bailouts, and against American-made energy. When is Nelson going to start putting taxpayers first?”

Starting Friday, the ad will be running across Florida for two weeks.

Thankfully, we have mute buttons and channel changers.

More big bucks used for ads that can't be used for something more destructive.
