Allen West Rips Into Obama and Supreme Court on Immigration
U.S. Rep. Allen West, R-Fla., came out swinging against President Barack Obama on Tuesday, ripping the president over immigration. West also hammered the Supreme Court for ruling against Arizona’s immigration law last week.
“President Obama circumvented Congress and proceeded forward with executive action that will potentially grant amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants,” West insisted in an email to supporters sent out on Tuesday. “Then the Supreme Court ruled that states don't have the right to take [the] initiative to protect their own borders. This is after decades of failure by the federal government to do its job securing our border and stopping illegal immigration. We can't afford to tolerate President Obama and the liberals' amnesty policy any longer.
“We are getting away from a government that’s based upon consent of the American people and we are moving toward government by executive edict and judicial overreach," West continued. “Replacing President Obama and electing strong conservatives to the House and Senate has never been more important.”

Mr. West, thank you for your stand on illegal immigration. As a Florida resident, I'm shocked at the number of admitted illegals living and working in my community. They know the government will do very little and actually laugh when they are told they might get caught and deported. Its time for us all to take a stand.

Allen West is going to have enough problem getting himself re-elected, much less elect new Tea Partiers. They may win primaries, but most won't succeed in an actual contested general election.
Most people seem to be getting tired of demonization politics. Allen West embodies some of the worst politically partisan verbalization of that demonization, such as his recent, intentional repeated use of the word "slave" in connection with our first black President - "He’d rather you be his slave and be economically dependent upon him."
Such dialogue is racist, regardless of who it comes from.

I think Democrats, Republicans and of course ultra left progressives are under the impression that the Constitutional TEA PARTY is declining? This could be any further from the truth, since hundreds each day are joining this split from the GOP and causing frantic demonstrations of nerves in both parties. People who have had no interest in voting before are materializing out of society, because they are now well aware that the Democrats essentially will ignore election laws, as they have done for years. Using any oral device they can, including ‘Voter Suppression, Political Correctness’ and revealing their true nature of being hard core, anti-American. The truth is that without any official oversight, non citizens will vote in a violation of the law and this is what Democrats want? They don’t heed who votes as long as it is for Obama, whether by fraudulent absentee ballot or voting in any precinct. More states than ever before are revising their laws, so any person who votes must have a picture ID, although even this isn’t foolproof.
With the outcome of the Supreme Courts decisive answer, America is under an even more danger of a illegal alien invasion? The fact the Obama administration have ignored many elements of the Constitution, should warn all of us of the evident avenue towards Socialism. A large majority of President Obama voters desire his massive escalation of corpulent government, offering welfare, food stamps and public giveaways. These are dregs that have probably never worked in their lives and live of the taxpayers. 40 percent of Americans have never paid anything in federal or state taxes. Not the farmers who employ them, not the thousands of businesses that pay under the table; again it’s the taxpayer. The open border zealots want a global government and their philosophy is just that; wide open borders. Why does being in this sovereign nation, without documentation and violating the law, give illegal aliens the privilege of stealing the lawful populace money. Why must we, the taxpayer be forced to pay for the children of illegal aliens education, a family’s health care?
I don’t know what Mitt Romney has in mind on Immigration, but the TEA PARTY says No? Americans have been taken for granted, as have the courageous Border Patrol agents who protect the fence; it’s hard to believe that there a big signs in the deserts along the border, in our own country warning us of entering. That signifies it’s dangerous to enter these regions, because of the drug cartels and armed foreign nationals. It’s a proven fact that property owners along the border regions are fearful for their lives and must carry a firearm all the time.
THE TEA PARTY WILL NOT COMPROMISE ON ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. THEY BROKE THE LAW, SO THEY WILL BE DEPORTED. THERE WILL BE NO MORE COVERT AMNESTIES, CHAIN MIGRATION AND STATES WITH SANCTUARY POLICIES WILL BE PROSECUTED. Lamar Smiths bill ‘The Legal Workforce Act’ (H.R. 2885) informs a business owner whether an individual has a right to work. Currently it is a voluntary policy, but citizens can change this by rattling the cages of the Republican Party. It has become a remarkable electronic program, which detects unauthorized non citizens already hired, but then flagged and can only be resolved by stepping into Social Security offices. No illegal alien would dream of doing that, even if they are in possession of stolen ID documents? Of course the mainstream Liberal press is adamant in denouncing the E-Verify business checking Database?
Just as vital in importance is the BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP Bill (H.R.140) amendment law. This disqualifies illegal alien mothers from gaining immediate acceptance of their unborn baby smuggled through ports of entry, either across the ocean or through our limited border fence defenses. You wish for the federal government to force states to conform to your ideal immigration laws.
You denounce the current big government for abusing states rights and allowed the influx of illegal immigrants for these several decades. However, what you want to achieve would require a centrist federal government ruled by the Tea Party, which is still BIG government. You rant about your ideals and the abuse of the Constitution, but from your contradictory arguments, it is obvious that you only care about your ideals and not the Constitution.
Even if the Tea Party somehow wins a majority of seats in November, how would your plan be enacted? Deport every illegal alien in the United States?
If the government does that, then our infrastructure would be torn apart. Without cheap non-union labor working at 1/10th of the minimum wage where employers do not even have to pay for benefits or consider workers' rights, the US economy would collapse.
I used to live in California, and without illegal immigrants, California would not have peaked as the 5th highest GNP in the world. If you think strict immigration laws and enforcement will help us out of the recession, then you only need to look at Alabama.

frank, the court's should not change the wording in any bill. this should have gone back to the house and senate to have the wording changed to what every sensible person knew it was (a tax). Allen West along with every one who has a brain should be very upset about how all the dem's tried to under mind us by calling it something it's not. and if we were to put you up against west i am sure you would find he knows more about the constitution and protecting it than you could ever dream of doing. i think we should throw obama out it seems he goes around the constitution every chance he can. we don't even need a congress any more he just throw's one of those executive order's out and bypasses our law's. If you want to discuss about calling the mandate a penalty rather than a tax, go no further than where that "penalty" terminology originated - Mitt Romney. And you know, I don't really care what's it's called. The penalty in this instance was determined to be a type of tax. That determination doesn't change how it operates (nor the court's ruling). And all you have to do to avoid it is to have health insurance. That will affect only that very low percentage of Americans who will intentionally refuse to have any health insurance.
If you want to discuss executive orders and you're referring to the recently stated Obama administration immigration policy, well, then you (like many reporters), don't know what an executive order is. There isn't one. The policy shift involves utilizing the perfectly legal and congessionally authorized prosecutorial discretion to basically not be deporting certain young illegal immigrants who haven't broken any laws.
But see, in those two examples, it seems you only want to use the technically correct term when its spin would help meet your partisan desires.
None of this changes the reality that Allen West's sole claim to fame seems to be as an abusive partisan attack dog, constantly demonizing anyone who doesn't agree with him. That's not what I, or most Americans, expect from an elected member of Congress.
