Allen West Rips Obama on Leadership
Former U.S. Rep. Allen West, R-Fla., ripped into President Barack Obama on Tuesday, pointing to Politifact giving him the “Lie of the Year” award for his claim that Americans would be able to keep their current health-care options under his signature law.
“President Obama has won the ‘Lie of the Year’ award from Politifact, a radical left-wing ‘fact-checking’ website, for promising, ‘If you like your health care plan, you can keep it.’ What a great honor for the leader of the free world to win – and from a website that is sympathetic to his ideology, no less!” West wrote supporters on. “Here in the South, we call leading from behind following.”
West promised to use his Allen West Guardian Fund PAC to “elect principled leaders who will guard our constitutional republic and fight for our conservative values” before turning his fire back to Obama.
“We can't afford any more politicians who blatantly lie to the American people, bow to foreign leaders and place political expediency ahead of their country,” West insisted. “Leadership is a character trait, and you either have it or you don't. Throughout my career in the U.S. Army, I found that leaders were usually the men and women who had fought through adversity or persevered through intense physical challenges. Thus, it's no surprise to me that veterans and minorities often make outstanding leaders.”
