Ander Crenshaw Doubles Down on the FairTax

U.S. Rep. Ander Crenshaw, R-Fla., is one of 10 Florida Republican congressmen co-sponsoring U.S. Rep. Rod Woodall’s, R-Ga., “FairTax Act of 2013” (HR 25) and the Jacksonville congressman, who has backed the FairTax since 2006, explained his rationale on Thursday.

“Every year Americans negotiate 70,000 pages of costly and complex tax code and spend roughly $265 billion and 6.1 billion hours filling out tax forms,” Crenshaw said “This amount of time and money can be better spent on growing the economy and creating jobs. Implementing a FairTax would help.

“The easy-to-understand FairTax would rid us of thousands of pages of regulations and loopholes,” Crenshaw added. “In its place would remain a transparent national sales tax on goods and services administered primarily by the states. Federal income taxes as well as the FICA payroll tax would be eliminated, and the IRS would no longer be needed.

“The FairTax protects the poor and treats everyone equally: no exemptions, no exclusions, no advantages. People would be allowed to keep their entire paycheck and spend hard-earned dollars on ways that best suit them. On the business side of the equation, labor costs are lowered by eliminating payroll taxes, allowing companies to hire more workers,” Crenshaw continued.

“Americans deserve to keep more of their paycheck in their wallets and bank accounts,” Crenshaw concluded. They don’t need to be finding more dollars to send to Washington to fund big and costly government programs.”

After reading the comments, is it any wonder why Rep Crenshaw supports the Fairtax? Every vote counts, and it matters not if Ander has ever read or discussed HR25. He would have learned that the FT rate would be closer to 60% in order to be revenue neutral. Under our constitutional Republic form of government, governments can not tax each other as proposed in HR25, and the lack of any evasion allowance is a serious flaw. He would have learned that the prebate creates a group of tens of millions lower income workers that would pay no net federal tax, yet would still receive their full Social Security benefits when eligible. He would have learned that senikors would get thrown under the bus by forcing them to resume paying for their SS benefits, by double taxing their after tax savings when spent, and by significantly increasing their federal tax burden. Is that fair?

Why can't we have a national public debate on the" Fair Tax " with high ranking congressman so everybody could see the logic to the "Fair Tax"? It needs to be exposed to the common public via TV and radio. Lets some how put pressure on the president to have a national debate or make sure we vote on a president in the next election that supports the "Fair Tax"

Thank you for co-sponsoring HR:25 The Fair Tax Bill. Hopefully this election will see the firing of all those non supporters of HR:25 and the election of Representatives that support the Nation & Citizens and not a free spending, wasteful Federal Government! I wish I lived in your District you would be getting my vote & strong support. I hope the Citizens in your District understand the many benefits to passage of HR:25. The U.S. would become the World leader in manufacturing again if it was passed. Unemployment would drop drastically and HIGH PAYING Manufacturing Jobs would return. Citizen no longer would be threatened by the IRS. Citizens who are employees would no longer be subject to filling taxes or trying to understand the unintelligible tax forms. The lower income earners will be able to save money and not have Federal Taxes eat up the interest. They will no longer be punished if they get a pay raise that puts them in a higher tax bracket because there will be no tax brackets. The benefits go on & on & on! Thanks again for your support.

The FairTax is the solution to what is ailing the American economy. I have made it the center of my jobs plan platform to defeat Speaker Boehner in the May 6th primary. #FairTax #AshworthForCongress

Mr. Crenshaw, I am 100% behind you. Maybe you can bend enough ears in congress to get this thing passed, once and for all!

I too, have been a staunch supporter of the Fair Tax (HR25) since 2006. I've given my whole hearten support, both socially through emails and other social networking, as well as some financial support. But this bill never seems to get enough traction to get out of committee and on the floor for a vote. We need strong publicity for the Fair Tax, and more support in congress.

Ander Crenshaw; You've got my vote! The Fair Tax would transform our government! The Fair Tax, would be the greatest move in the history of taxing! The Fair Tax, is th ONLY fair way to collect taxes; EVERY TAXPAYER, IS EQUAL, NO exceptions! EVERY person, who "works" for the Government, is a tax collector! Under the Fair Tax; THEY also become tax-payers! Better still; we would need less government "workers"! The Fair Tax, would bring back our production of goods, rather than imports! The Fair Tax; would trensform the power of Government,, and put it in the hands of the people! AND; most important; it will STOP taxing the producers! GOD; Bless America! In GOD We Trust!
