Congressional Candidate Rudy Moise Launches New Ad

Rudy Moise, running in a crowded Democratic primary to replace U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek in Congress, has launched his first television ad. The winner of the Aug. 24 primary will face an independent in November; no Republican candidate made the final ballot.

“The ad focuses on Rudy’s experience caring for patients and creating jobs as a successful physician,” wrote Anastasia Apa, Moise’s campaign manager, in a release announcing the new ad. “The new ad also highlights Rudy’s support from real people who live in District 17.”

Facing a field of officeholders, the ad plays up what makes Moise different -- his background as a doctor, showing him with numerous patients. If Apa and the Moise team were looking to show their candidate to be a political outsider while also playing up his ties to the community and the people in the district, they did exactly that. In a year when Florida is being bombarded by political ads, this one is different -- and effective.
