Connie Mack Focuses on Attacking Bill Nelson, Not GOP Rivals
With two months to go until the Republican primary, U.S. Rep. Connie Mack continues to ignore his rivals to focus on Democrat incumbent U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson.
The Mack team sent out an email to supporters on Friday that hammers Nelson but ignores the other Republicans in the race.
“Over the past few weeks, we've been excited to see conservatives from all over the state and the country rallying around our campaign for Senate,” wrote Jeff Cohen, Mack’s campaign manager. “Now, as Republicans begin to coalesce around Connie's message of freedom, security and prosperity, it's time to take the fight to liberal Senator Bill Nelson.
“:From Obamacare, to the so-called ‘stimulus,’ to blocking the Keystone pipeline, Bill Nelson has stood with President Obama every step of the way,” continued Cohen. “He's a LockStep Liberal through and through, but he's going to do everything he can in this campaign to hide his true colors and his record of voting with President Obama 98 percent of the time. We can't let Bill Nelson hide his failed liberal record."
Mack’s rivals for the Republican nomination have hammered the congressman for ignoring them and refusing to debate them. But Mack’s far ahead of them in the polls and has garnered the support of many prominent Republicans across the nation and in the state. Based on Cohen’s email, it looks like the Mack team is going to continue to focus on November.

Yes, yes, we know, Cornelius Harvey McGillicuddy IV has been duly crowned before he's won a single primary.
Nothing like back door politics and endorsements by the privileged - - - I hear he's even turned down attending all primary debates.
That's a particularly arrogant attitude - - hopefully, the other Senate candidates will be able to successfully convince a significant portion of Republican voters to reject a non-vetted, non-debating candidate.
What's he going to do, also ignore Nelson. Oh, that will go over great!
But then, I guess that's what you try to do when you have nothing to offer except the name of your famous great-grandfather, your Hooter's background, and the fact that your wife lives in California (great family values). Pathetic.
