David Christian to Oversee Florida Chamber Lobbying Team, Business Agenda

David M. Christian, a veteran government affairs professional, has been named vice president of government affairs for the Florida Chamber of Commerce.

The position, which oversees a team of 25 lobbyists, is responsible for the Chamber’s annual business agenda.

“We’re pleased to add David Christian to our seasoned governmental affairs team and our effective political operations program spearheaded by Marian Johnson,” David Hart, Chamber executive vice president of Government Affairs and Political Operations, stated in a release.

“One of our top priorities is to unite the business community, and David’s association experience and private-sector background will enhance our ability to serve our members, association partners and local chambers of commerce. Adding David to the team will help solidify our business advocacy efforts and make our team even stronger,” added Hart.

Christian has served as vice president of public affairs, policy and communications with Verizon Communications, communications manager for the United States Telecommunications Association during the Telecommunications Act of 1996, and as deputy press secretary for Congressman Nicholas Mavroules.
