Freshman U.S. Rep. Dennis Ross, R-Fla., endorsed businesswoman Karen Harrington in the Republican primary to take on U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., best known for leading the Democratic National Committee.

“As a small-business owner, Karen Harrington has proven herself to be job creator as well as defender of conservative principles. I believe that Karen will bring a much-needed, common-sense, small business approach to Washington, D.C,” said Ross, who announced on Saturday that he was backing U.S. Rep. Connie Mack, R-Fla., to take on Democrat incumbent U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson. “Karen is a mom, wife, coach and businesswoman. Congress needs the perspective of those, like Karen, who balance a family budget and sign the front of paychecks. I look forward to serving alongside her in the coming year."

“I am truly honored that Congressman Ross is supporting our campaign to defeat the most divisive member of Congress -- Debbie Wasserman Schultz -- and look forward to working with him to cut back the wasteful government spending, lower taxes for all Americans and balance our national budget,” Harrington said.
