Feedstock Growers Back Adam Putnam in Agriculture Race

At their meeting in Orlando, the Florida Feedstock Growers Association (FFGA) endorsed Republican candidate U.S. Rep. Adam Putnam to be the next state agriculture and consumer services commissioner.

“We are thrilled to endorse Adam Putnam for Florida commissioner of agriculture,” said Bill Vasen, chairman of the FFGA. “Florida’s agricultural future is dependent on its leadership, and Adam not only has the knowledge and experience to lead his fellow farmers, but also a vision for this industry’s future that recognizes the important role renewable feedstock will play in our state’s growth.”

“I would like to thank the Florida Feedstock Growers Association for their thoughtful endorsement of my campaign for commissioner of agriculture and consumer services,” said Putnam who spoke to the group on agriculture and renewable energy. “Their membership recognizes the importance of pursuing policies to protect our food supply, so we do not find ourselves dependent on others for our food, as we have for our fuel. Renewable fuels in Florida have reached a new plateau of maturity with the forming of an entire association dedicated to their production. As commissioner, I look forward to working with these energy farmers to establish Florida at the pinnacle of innovation and sustainable land use.”
