Florida Congressmen Holding Events to Help Economy Get Moving

Two Florida Republicans in Congress are holding events to help out with the state’s continuing sluggish economy.

U.S. Rep. Gus Bilirakis will be holding a career fair at Spartan Manor in New Port Richey on Thursday, Dec. 2. More than 20 companies will be on hand.

“Florida’s 12 percent unemployment rate remains one of the highest in the country, so we must do all we can to connect those who are out of work with employers," said Bilirakis. "This career fair will serve as an excellent opportunity for those in search of jobs to meet with potential employers in the area."

U.S. Rep. Bill Posey will be hosting a summit for entrepreneurs form the Space Coast in Melbourne on Tuesday, Jan. 11. Posey hopes the events will allow entrepreneurs -- especially those in the technological industries -- to reach out to consumers and potential investors.
