Florida Gulf Coast U to Appeal for Higher Tuition Hike

Florida Gulf Coast University will ask the Florida Board of Governors to reconsider the 12 percent tuition increase approved last week.

The Fort Myers-based state university had asked for a 14 percent increase.

Last Thursday, the Board of Governors granted four universities -- Florida Atlantic University, Florida International University, University of Central Florida and New College – the ability to hike tuition to the maximum 15 percent.

Another three -- University of North Florida, University of West Florida and Florida State University -- had their requests for the maximum hike allowed by law knocked down 1 or 2 percentage points.

Thank you, Rick Scott.

You're well on your way to destroy the state's university system.
