Florida Lands 10 Schools in Top 100 of Newsweek's 'Best High Schools'


Ten Florida public schools landed in the top 100 of Newsweek’s “America’s Best High Schools 2012 report card.

“This is an incredible honor and I congratulate Florida’s students, teachers, principals, superintendents and school boards for this great achievement,” Florida Education Commissioner Gerard Robinson stated in a release. “Florida’s public education system is one of the best in the nation, and this report card bears that out.”

The report card measures high schools based on: graduation rate; college matriculation rate; Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, and Advanced International Certificate of Education tests taken per student; average SAT and ACT scores; average AP, IB, and AICE scores; and AP courses offered per student.
