Florida League of Cities Officials Hold 'Fly-In' to Washington
Florida League of Cities leaders were in Washington, D.C., earlier this week meeting with White House and congressional officials.
“A delegation of nearly 30 local leaders from across the state attended the league’s annual FAST “Fly-In,” a two-day advocacy mission to Washington to lobby for continued federal support for the programs that enable communities to grow their economies and create jobs for residents, such as investments in transportation infrastructure and the Community Development Block Grant,” according to a story posted on the National League of Cities website.
White House administration officials that the group talked with included Director of Intergovernmental Affairs David Agnew, Stan Gimont and Shelley Poticha of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and Joanna Turner of the U.S. Department of Transportation.
