Florida Sues Feds for Blocking Access to Homeland Security Database

Florida has filed a lawsuit against the federal government for failing to provide access to the Homeland Security’s SAVE database to help the state find noncitizens among Florida’s registered voters.

Gov. Rick Scott announced the lawsuit while on FOX News Monday afternoon.

“So this afternoon we will file a lawsuit -- the secretary of state of Florida against the Department of Homeland Security -- to give us the database," Scott said. "We want to have fair, honest elections in our state and we have been put in a position that we have to sue the federal government to get this information.”

More to come.

Oh, the Governor got notice of DOJ's pending suit against Florida so he had to strike while he could, correct?

Does the Governor even realize that the SAVE database DOESN'T include the citizen status of all Americans. For example, it doesn't include native born Americans, does not allow verification based on name and/or date of birth alone, etc.

It's not even clear that access to this database will resolve this issue of citizen versus non-citizen for Florida. Furthermore, from today's DOJ letter it appears that Homeland Security was willing to allow access if certain other information and requirements were complied with EIGHT MONTHS AGO. Apparently, Florida did not/could not provide this information and essentially created the current situation.

Gee, you know maybe that national citizen ID card proposal would solve all this problem, wouldn't it?

Oh NO! That would be horrible of course, because . . . . because. . . . because the Tea Party believes that the National Citizen ID card information might be able to be used for other things (just like Florida wants access to the SAVE database for).

But what's a little hypocrisy, after all it's the hated Obama administration, correct, so everything's ok in a bitter war, correct, even when it clearly results in being a HYPOCRITE.

Oh well, just another day on the job for unconstitutional Scott.
