Forbes: Jacksonville, Orlando are Top 10 Cities for College Grads


Two of the best cities for recent college graduates are in the Sunshine State, according to Forbes magazine.

Jacksonville was listed as the third best city for graduates, trailing only St. Louis and Salt Lake City.

Orlando stood in sixth place.

Forbes, using CareerBliss.com to collect the data, judged cities based upon factors impacting workplace happiness, including one’s relationship with the boss and co-workers, work environment, job resources, compensation, growth opportunities, company culture, company reputation, daily tasks, and control over the work done on a daily basis.

Also considered were cost-of-living adjusted to salary.

Jacksonville, with an average cost-of-living-adjusted salary of $45,736, scored well for how young professionals felt about their company, who they worked with, who they worked for, and the work they do.

The average cost-of-living-adjusted salary in Orlando was $43,047.
