Free Subscriptions Available for Florida’s Do Not Call Program

Florida residents who want to block sales calls to residential, mobile or paging device telephone numbers can now sign up for the Florida Do Not Call program for free.

“We’re thrilled to offer this valuable service to Floridians at no charge,” Commissioner Adam Putnam stated in a release on Monday.

“Last year, we heard complaints from nearly 20,000 consumers about telemarketing. Now, we’re able to offer protection from unsolicited calls to Floridians at no cost.”

Previously, Florida residents were required to pay $10 for a new subscription and $5 for renewal.

The fee for subscription was removed as a result of a measure passed by the Florida Legislature, House Bill 749, sponsored by Rep. Dana Young, R-Tampa, and Sen. Anitere Flores, R-Miami, during the 2012 session.

You can't post links. This is an anti-spam measure.

I'd rather use some call and text blocking app, for example Call Control. Really helps from telemarketers, prank callers, robocallers, advertisers...
