Haridopolos to Address Students, Faculty at Stetson on Tuesday

Florida Senate President Mike Haridopolos, R-Merritt Island, will visit his alma mater Stetson University on Tuesday, where he will address students and faculty.

Haridopolos will appear at:

1 p.m. in American Studies Professor Paul Croces class History of American Science and Religion: Darwinism and the Divine in the American Culture, at 1 p.m. in the Rinker Auditorium of the Lynn Business Center, 345 N. Woodland Blvd., DeLand;

2:30 p.m. for the universitys Phi Beta Kappa Deliberating About Things That Matter series. The event will be held in the Faculty Lounge of the Carlton Union Building, 131 E. Minnesota Ave., DeLand.

According to a release, topics of discussion may include the value of Stetsons education to the senator in his career; the tension between principle and compromise in political decision-making; the best undergraduate preparation for health careers or political service; and the future of health or patient care and health.

Both events are listed as being open to the public, but the students will get the first crack at asking any questions.
