Kreegel Moves Campaign Account to Connie Mack's District

Florida Rep. Paige Kreegel, R-Punta Gorda, has refocused his congressional efforts by filing to run for the 14th District seat held by U.S. Rep. Connie Mack, R-Naples, on Monday.

Kreegel, a family doctor who is term-limited from seeking re-election to the state House, had previously been listed as a candidate for  Florida’s 16th District seat held by U.S. Rep. Tom Rooney, R-Tequesta.

The 16th District is expected to be centered on northern Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast through the Legislature's once-a-decade redistricting process.

Under the Senate redistricting map, which is moving faster toward approval than the House version, the 14th District would include most of Lee County and the western portion of Collier County.

Kreegel enters a crowded field for the 14th District, having already raised more than $160,000.

Other candidates competing for Mack's seat are Republicans: Lee County Commissioner Tammy Hall and Rep. Gary Aubuchon of Cape Coral, conservative radio personality Trey Radel, Chauncey Goss of Sanibel, Joe Davidow of Naples, Timothy Rossano of Fort Myers, Lee James Titchworth of Cape Coral and Christopher Key Sandy of Bonita Springs.

Finally, a strong conservative with brains. Which cannot be said for any other candidate running!
