In announcing Derby's appointment, Edie Ousley, vice president of public affairs for the Florida Chamber, said, "Kevin's knowledge and experience in communicating to diverse audiences will advance the breadth, depth and results of the Florida Chamber of Commerce."
Sunshine State News Executive Editor Nancy Smith said, "Kevin will be sorely missed. He has a deep understanding of Florida history, its politics, its regional differences and much more. He is a devotee of sound, conservative principles. We certainly wish him well at the chamber."
