Legislative Aide to Janet Adkins Exiting House for Consulting

Larry Williams, the legislative aide for state Rep. Janet Adkins, R-Fernandina Beach, since first elected in 2008, is heading into private government consulting.

Adkins announced Friday that Williams will leave the House on Nov. 2.

"Larry has been a member of my legislative team since I was first elected to the Florida House in November of 2008," Adkins stated in the release. "In his official capacity as my legislative aide, Larry also served as my budget and policy director for the last four years. Larry has been the cornerstone in my legislative office, and he will be deeply missed."

Adkins, who spent $211,000 in her primary victory, is being challenged in November by the seriously underfunded Democrat David Smith of Neptune Beach, who has about $400 on hand.
