Marco Rubio: Still Not a Target of The Left?
Earlier this month, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio’s team sent out an e-blast claiming: "Everyone from President Obama's press secretary, to Senator Harry Reid, to Obama's liberal campaign machines funded with millions of special-interest dollars [has] put Marco at the top of their enemies list.”
The response from the mainstream media was immediate: “Baby,” “Victim,” they screamed. Or, as Sunshine State News’ top wordsmith Nancy Smith described it, “Where [Democrat Bill] Nelson slipped through the left-leaning media's truth-o-meter like a greased pig at a Sunday school picnic, Rubio was stopped and detained at the gate.”
The Orlando Sentinel recommended a strike-all to the e-blast’s assertions, because the newspaper said it relied on claims from The Daily Caller, a well-known conservative web site -- aka not to be trusted?
Interestingly, today, The Hill newspaper – certainly no bastion of conservative thought – includes a feature about the Democrats’ “political assault” against the Republican senator of Florida. According to The Hill, the widespread speculation that Rubio is a leading vice presidential pick for the GOP ticket means “the intensity of [Democratic] attacks will intensify in the coming weeks.”
The Hill recounts recent jabs on the Miami senator from Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., fellow Floridian and Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, among others.
Does anyone really believe Marco is not a prime target of the Left?
