Mike Huckabee to Darth Vader Boy: 'May the Force Be With You'
Former Gov. Mike Huckabee of Arkansas, who has since moved to the Sunshine State, offered kind words for Max Page -- the little boy who made a memorable appearance in a Volkswagen commercial -- in an email to supporters sent out on Thursday.

“One of the most popular Super Bowl commercials last year featured a small boy in a Darth Vader costume, trying to use ‘the Force’ to start a Volkswagen,” Huckabee wrote. “You never saw or heard the kid inside the mask, but he’s a cute 7-year-old named Max Page who won America’s hearts with his pantomime talents. Well, Max was born with a congenital heart defect, and he’s currently undergoing two days of surgery. Doctors will replace a pulmonary valve and fix a hole in his heart. Max said it’s scary, but he has to go through with it, so he might as well do it with a good attitude. And he knows all about that, because he’s an ambassador for the L.A. Children’s Hospital. He takes acting roles to raise money for other kids with heart defects. So to Max and his parents, know we’re all praying for you. And may the Force be with you.”
