Romney Beating Gingrich in S.C., Santorum and Paul Battle for Third

With South Carolina Republicans voting in the presidential primary on Saturday, a poll of likely voters from Rasmussen Reports unveiled on Tuesday finds former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney leading the pack of presidential hopefuls in the Palmetto State.

Romney, who has already chalked up wins in the Iowa caucus and the New Hampshire primary, takes 35 percent of those surveyed. In a Rasmussen poll of South Carolina last week, Romney led with 28 percent. Former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrcih stands in second with 21 percent, while U.S. Rep. Ron Paul of Texas and former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania are locked in a tie for third with 16 percent each. Gov. Rick Perry of Texas lags with 5 percent. A third of the voters -- 33 percent -- say they could still change their mind.

The poll of 750 likely South Carolina Republican primary voters was taken on Jan. 16 and had a margin of error of +/- 4 percent.

Newt Gingrich is a creep. He is a professional adulterer who married Callista Bisek, after living with her while Newt was still married to his second wife. Callista advised him to become a Catholic and run for president, in order to capture the Catholic vote. He and Callista are not good Catholics in that they were married in a hotel instead of in a Catholic temple. Unless a Catholic couple marries by the Catholic Church they are not married at all. A marriage by a justice of the peace makes the marriage legal by state law only. As far as the church is concerned, Newt and Callista continue their adulterous affair pretending they are legally married. Newt’s first wife was his geometry teacher who was about 7 years older than him. Maybe she talked him into it so Newt could be exempt from the draft during the Vietnam War. She was his teacher and mentor for many years and did everything for him including changing his diapers, which must have been a huge job given Newt’s humongous butt.
If Newt became president he would help himself to the public trough, like he did when he worked as a "Historian" for Freddie Mac and was paid one and a half million dollars of taxpayers' money. I think Newt should return that money to the Treasury Department. And what did Freddie Mac need a "Historian" for?

Ron Paul called Gingrich a "chicken hawk" because he didn't serve in the Vietnam War yet Gingrich has a record of supporting U.S. military engagements overseas. He was instrumental in having our men killed or maimed while he never lifted a finger to help the war effort. Paul was a flight surgeon in the Air Force during the Vietnam era. In response, Gingrich said, "I had two children during that period. I never asked for a deferment. During the period I was a father and it was automatic." Ron Paul also had two children. Yet he served. Newt is a draft dodger.

Newt was under investigation for ethics violations, primarily for using his tax exempt status for organizations designed to further his political goals, and for making misleading statements to Congress. In December 1998 Newt paid $300,000 for the later of these charges. In a subsequent election the leadership of the Republican party was not satisfied with his work. On November 6, 1998 he resigned as Speaker of the House and from the Congress. The Speaker’s job is a very good one. Why did Newt leave this job? Very simple, nobody wants to be where he is not wanted. Now the unemployed Newt wants to be President.

I am an independent voter who prefers Ron Paul. Among his many good ideas Ron Paul advocates halting those stupid wars that our political leaders involve our country in. First we help Iraq in its 10 ten-year war against Iran. Then we go to war against Iraq because its leader “is building weapons of mass destruction” (which turn out to be a lie). Now that our troops left Iraq the Iraqis are fighting each other. We still have troops all over the world despite the fact that World War II ended over 50 years ago. If the U.S. continues to mix itself as a world policeman into the internal affairs of other countries, the result might be the outbreak of World War III. Worse yet, we can no longer afford it. The United States is going broke.
