Obama Administration Rallies Against Quran Burning on 9/11
With the Vatican, General David Petraeus and even Angelina Jolie weighing in on Pastor Terry Jones of the Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville leading a ceremony to burn the Quran on Saturday to remember the ninth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, it’s no surprise that the Obama administration is starting to take aim at Jones’ plan as well.
U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, who met with religious leaders on Tuesday to discuss the event on Saturday, condemned Jones’ plan as “idiotic and dangerous.” Obama adviser David Axelrod was on NBC’s Today show on Wednesday morning trashing the idea.
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton also took aim at Jones in remarks on Tuesday night -- ironically enough, at dinner honoring Iftar, part of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month. "I am heartened by the clear, unequivocal condemnation of this disrespectful, disgraceful act that has come from American religious leaders of all faiths," she said.
As for the president, while Obama himself has remained silent, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs echoed comments from Petraeus that the Quran burnings could prove deadly to American servicemen stationed in the Middle East.

I have mixed feeling about burning a Quran because of the 911 attack on the US. Why is it ok for Muslims to burn the US Flag issue death threats to anyone who says anything negative about the Muslim religion, but when it come to us the People of the U.S we can say or do anything because it might inflame the Muslim population and cause retaliation to our soldiers or our people.
If the Muslim population decided to burn a bible I don’t think anyone the while house would give a damn. I don’t think anyone in the United States would start a riot over burning a bible. The way I see it, if you have problem with the bible, do what you must and if burning bible make you feel better then do it.
