Obama Super-PAC Slams Romney '47 Percent' Gaffe in New Ad

Priorities USA Action, an independent expenditure political action committee ("super-PAC") supporting President Obama's re-election, has come out with a new ad slamming Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's recent comments about the supposed "47 percent" of voters who are dependent on the welfare state:

Romney has come under friendly fire for the remarks from several Republicans, too. According to these critics (e.g., W. James Antle III of the Daily Caller News Foundation), Romney's main point was right, but for the wrong reasons: the 47 percent he referred to are those who do not pay income taxes, not necessarily those dependent on government welfare. And many do not pay income taxes precisely because of the many tax breaks supported over the last several decades by Republican and conservative policymakers.
