Organizing for America, a group with close ties to President Barack Obama, sent an e-mail on Tuesday urging Florida Democrats to vote for U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek over Jeff Greene in the Democratic primary on Tuesday for the U.S. Senate election.

“This is our chance to make Kendrick Meek the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate,” wrote Mitch Stewart, the director for Organizing for America. “He has been a champion for middle-class families and somebody who has not been afraid to stand up to the status quo and the special interests. We need that kind of fighter in the U.S. Senate and I need you to help him get there.”
