Republican Ron DeSantis Names Finance Team in CD 6 Race
Republican Ron DeSantis on Wednesday named the initial members of his finance committee for his run in the 6th Congressional District.
They are: Mike Hightower, co-chair; Nancy P. McGowan, co-chair; Jay Demetree. Joseph G. Fogg; and Duane Ottenstroer.
All are from Jacksonville except for Fogg, who is from Naples.
DeSantis, 33, of Ponte Vedra Beach, is a former federal prosecutor and Iraq War veteran, and is making his first run for public office.
Other announced GOP contenders in the newly drawn CD 6 -- which includes portions of Orange, Volusia, Flagler and St. Johns counties -- are Craig Miller and Fred Costello.

I love Sunshine State News but your article fails to mention the most serious, battle-tested candidate in this race as one of the contenders: Richard Clark. He is the only candidate in this race who (a) has a conservative record as a tax fighter and budget cutter and (b) kept his word that he would not raise taxes and fees during his term as Jacksonville City Council President, which coincided with the meltdown of the US economy in 2009. Lots of candidates talk about what they will do but few ever actually stand firm once they are in office. Actions speak louder than words and Clark has proven that he doesn't bend when the going gets tough. Richard Clark is exactly the kind of representative we need in Washington to stop the reckless spending.
