Florida Republican U.S. Rep. Rich Nugent took a shot at President Barack Obama on the stimulus on Monday.

"When asked about the 'stimulus' not having the promised results, President Obama laughed and joked: ‘Shovel ready was not as shovel ready as we expected,’" noted Nugent. “That's not funny -- especially when you asked the taxpayers to spend $800 billion based on your promises.”

While it is early -- and his district will, of course, be impacted by redistricting early next year -- so far Nugent has drawn no challengers from either a primary rival or from the Democratic ranks. He will face a write-in candidate in Eileen Fleming. Nugent brought in less than $64,000 in the first quarter of 2011, and he spent almost $21,000.
