Rick Scott and Ann Scott Announce School Wellness Video Challenge

Gov. Rick Scott and first lady Ann Scott have announced a “Wellness Challenge” that seeks to recognize physical education teachers.

Public and private schools are invited to submit short videos, up to 10 minutes, that show fitness and nutrition practices, with the winners -- two will be named for elementary, middle and high school levels -- each receiving $2,500 for fitness equipment.

“I know that healthy habits start young, and it is important for me as a mother, grandmother and as first lady to encourage Florida’s children to be healthy and active,” Ann Scott stated in a release. “The video contest is a great chance for Florida’s schools to really express their creativity while highlighting how they help children improve fitness and make healthy choices.”
