Rick Scott Announces Transition Team, 'Plans to Get to Work'

One day after his victory speech, Rick Scott is adhering to his campaign slogan and getting to work on his transition into office.

In a press conference Thursday morning, he announced his long-time legal adviser and family friend Enu Mainigi would head the transition and Mary Anne Carter was named as the executive director.

On the actual committee, Floridians will find familiar names like Rep. Bill Galvano, R-Bradenton; former Lt. Gov. Toni Jennings; Sen. Paula Dockery, R-Lakeland; U.S. Sen. George LeMieux and Kathleen Shanahan from the Department of Education.

Former Miami Mayor Maurice Ferre is the only Democrat on the transition team.

The governor-elect and his team have also set up a transition website at www.scotttransition.com and are calling for anyone who wants to join his efforts and take a position in the Scott administration to sign up.

I like the fact that he did not get people who actively campaigned against him in the primary. Also, it is very important to have someone you can trust and his friend Enu and Mary Ann are people he can trust. So far so good.
