Rick Scott Attacks Injunction Blocking Arizona Immigration Law
With U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton ordering an injunction against parts of Arizona’s immigration law, health-care executive Rick Scott, the front-runner in the Republican gubernatorial primary, said the ruling was out-of-line.
“This type of ruling is a perfect example of why there is so much frustration with the political class in this country,” said Scott. “It just doesn’t make sense for a judge to prohibit police from doing their job and asking people they arrest to show proof that they are here legally. The Arizona law is right, and as I’ve said many times before, as governor I’ll bring the Arizona law to Florida.”

This just clearly shows Mr. Scott’s ignorance of both the law and the legal processes for making laws. Although I am against unchecked immigration, I am also against laws and regulations that cannot be easily and effectively enforced and that are unconstitutional, as the Arizona law will prove to be in its original form.
Article VI of our Constitution, called the supremacy clause, and provides for Congress to make laws relevant to immigration, not the individual states. Perhaps if Mr. Scott understood our government and how it works, he might realize that. A federal judge did.
