Rick Scott, Buddy Dyer Cut Ribbon on New Planet Hollywood HQ
Gov. Rick Scott and Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer joined Planet Hollywood CEO David Crabtree to cut the ribbon for Planet Hollywood International's new headquarters in Orlando.
The company, which committed to creating 90 new Florida jobs as part of a grant agreement with the state when consolidating operations in Orlando last year, has already created more than half the number, the governors office reported.
Planet Hollywood International had options, Scott stated in a release. They could have moved to Minneapolis and taken the Planet Hollywood headquarters with them. But Florida attracted Planet Hollywood to expand, relocate and create more jobs for Florida families, giving them the ability to live their version of the American dream.
With Planet Hollywood International the parent company of Earl of Sandwich restaurants, Planet Daily coffee shops, Buca di Beppo restaurants and Popstar magazine, Dyer called it important to nurture home-grown businesses.
Over the past two decades, the Planet Hollywood brand has been a proven success in our community and the city is proud to support its recent growth and the creation of jobs for our residents Dyer stated in the release.
