Rick Scott: Floridians Will Swing to Best Jobs Plan

It’s still all going to be about jobs for Floridians, Gov. Rick Scott said Thursday when asked about how the 2012 presidential contest will shape up in the fight for votes from the Sunshine State.

After discussing his continued opposition to the Affordable Care Act while on “CBS This Morning” on Thursday, Scott was asked about the presidential contest.

Scott replied that he believes the key for President Barack Obama and GOP challenger Mitt Romney will be what they offer to create jobs, just as it was in Florida’s gubernatorial contest.

“It’s the biggest issue for our country, it’s still the biggest issue for our state; we need more jobs -- which approach is going to be the best approach to more jobs,” Scott said.

“I think President Obama is going to suffer because jobs haven’t come back and Governor Romney has got to show a plan where Floridians say ‘Hey, gosh I believe in that and that is how we’re going to get back to work.’”

The interesting economic fact I was reminded of by a billionaire the other night was that the wealthy don't create jobs, consumers do.

Businesses (and the wealthy that run them) resist adding all the jobs they can, until forced to do so by consumers forcing them to add new jobs in order to meet consumers' demands.

So clearly, a focus on consumers, not the wealthy, is the key to economic improvement.

Now, which party is more focused on consumers (middle class), not the wealthy?

Oh, that's right, maybe better luck next time, Romney.

"where Floridians say ‘Hey, gosh I believe in that and that is how we’re going to get back to work.’” "

Well, he hasn't done it yet. Mr. Monopoly handing out the Community Chest funds to his wealthy pals isn't much of an employment plan.
