Rick Scott Names Donald H. Mason to 20th Judicial Circuit Court
Gov. Rick Scott announced today the appointment of Donald H. Mason, of Punta Gorda, to the 20th Judicial Circuit Court.
“Don’s long career in law enforcement, as both a police officer and prosecutor, combined with his years of private practice, make him uniquely prepared to serve on the bench,” Scott stated in a release. “Throughout Don’s career, he has demonstrated his intelligence, fairness and dedication, and I have every confidence that he will bring these qualities to his new position.”
Mason, 59, served as a police officer for 30 years before graduating from law school. He is currently the head of the Charlotte County state attorney’s office for the 20th Circuit. Mason served as a prosecutor with the 16th Circuit state attorney from 2003-2004, and with the 20th Circuit from 2004 to present.
He fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge James H. Seals.

"intelligence, fairness and dedication" What am I missing? He let the murderers of my son go free. He changed a crime of intent, running down my son with a vehicle, a crime with recorded death threats, into an "accident" and then let all parties involved go free after dismissing the only weak charges he filed against the driver of the vehicle. He says he believes in karma. Since when is karma the answer for justice?
