Rick Scott to Sign Bill Directing Tax Dollars for Aquariums

Gov. Rick Scott is scheduled to tour the Clearwater Marine Aquarium on Friday, where he will hold a ceremonial bill-signing that directs tourist development dollars for such aquatic centers.

HB 1015, crafted by supporters of the Clearwater aquarium, state Rep. Ed Hooper, R-Clearwater, and state Sen. Jack Latvala, R-Clearwater, adds aquariums to the list of facilities, including sports stadiums, convention centers and museums, which can draw money from bed tax dollars for construction, operations and marketing.
