Rubio Team Blames Crist, Obama for Florida Cities' High Unemployment

The U.S. Department of Labor released a report on Wednesday indicating that Florida is home to four of 11 of the cities that have the highest unemployment rates in the nation. Staffers for former House Speaker Marco Rubio, the likely Republican nominee in the U.S. Senate race, said this was due to economic policies backed by Gov. Charlie Crist -- who is running in the race without party affiliation -- and President Barack Obama.

“This report is just the latest indication that whether in the White House or the Florida governor’s mansion, the Obama-Crist economic plan of wasteful stimulus spending, higher taxes, more debt, cap-and-trade energy taxes and bailouts has failed our nation and our state,” said Alex Burgos, a spokesman for Rubio, on Thursday morning. “Washington doesn’t need more rubber stamps for the policies that are taking our country in the wrong direction. Marco Rubio is the only candidate who will go to Washington as a check-and-balance and is putting forth a clear pro-jobs alternative.”

Rubio just wants to join the Republican Gang, which is no different than the Democrat Gang, they both must follow their leaders or be punished. I say vote Independent, they answer to the people!

Mr. Rubio needs to go back to school for a history lesson so he'll see that we're in this mess because of the last administration and the Republican Party. Better yet, just vote the guy out.

Rubio's plan to stop stimulus money would double the unemployment rate. His tax cuts for the rich, and cutting social security would also stall the economy! To create more jobs, our economy needs more economic demand. We need people who are willing to go out and buy products and services. Our economic problem is not that we lack enough people who will go out and work to create the products and services we need to have better lives. Our problem is that there is not enough demand to entice businesses to increase their work forces or buy new plants and equipment. Thanks to republicans!
