Sheriff Joe Arpaio Backs Sandy Adams Over John Mica
U.S. Rep. Sandy Adams is facing a challenging primary in August when she clashes with fellow Florida Republican U.S. Rep. John Mica. Adams played up her stances on immigration on Tuesday when Sheriff Joe Arpaio, the Arizona law enforcement official who has won national attention on immigration and investigating President Barack Obama’s birth certificate, backed her re-election.
In his endorsement, Arpaio pointed to Adams’ record in law enforcement and in Tallahassee.
“As a former deputy sheriff, Sandy Adams knows what it takes to keep our citizens safe,” said Arpaio. “From introducing E-Verify in the Florida House of Representatives to her strong stance on illegal immigration in Congress, Sandy has always been at the forefront of keeping our borders safe."
Arpaio also said that Adams had compiled a solid record in her one term in Washington.
“After our nation lost a border patrol agent as a result of Operation Fast and Furious, Sandy helped lead the charge to hold Attorney General Eric Holder and this administration accountable,” Arpaio said. “I strongly back Sandy in her re-election, and I urge Central Floridians to do the same.”
Adams used the opportunity to pledge to crack down against illegal immigration.
“I am honored to receive the support of Sheriff Joe Arpaio,” said Adams. “As a former law enforcement officer myself, I have a great amount of respect for the sheriff and his work to protect our nation’s borders. With an A+ record from Numbers USA, I believe we must stand strong against illegal immigration. I look forward to working with Sheriff Arpaio on ways to protect our borders and crack down on illegal immigration.”

I like Sheriff Joe, but with all due respect, he got this endorsement wrong. Frank, I think you're off base with your comment and Hacimo pretty much obliterates his credibility with cursing when he doesn't like a post.
I get it, they are both law enforcement, so its not like he was going to endorse Mica. I wonder if he even knew she was running against him?
She keeps getting these endorsements from people not in Florida. I'm sure Mica has as well but doesn't publicize them for a cheap 2-hour bump. That pretty much tells me all I need to know.

Frank, I don't care to be honest. He is in Arizona, and I work construction in Orlando. What I do know is if that transportation bill didn't pass last week, I wouldn't have had a job site to go to. I'm a Republican, and so are a lot of my guys on sites. They know Mica sponsored in this case our jobs and Sandy Adams voted to put me out of one because her opponent had his name on it. This had nothing to do with conservatism or Tea Party, Allen West voted for it and other conservative freshmen did as well.

I hear you. I've pushed for this transportation bill for several years. I was dismayed that it got held up (by some Republicans) for non-germane, non-transportation issues. Its passage was long overdue.
I am not thrilled by out-of-state endorsements, particularly from those that have major ethical or legal baggage. That's my issue here.

If Ariaio says Adams is ok then its good enough for me. I hope she wins. The racist liberals are constantly trying to smear Arpaio but it won't stick. The man is as straight as they come and as tough as Wyatt Earp. He can be one mean SOB, but he is the same to everyone who breaks the law without regard to race of class or gender. Unlike our current president he does not pick and choose which laws he likes and doesn't like. With men like Arpaio on the job the invaders will be repelled.
