Three Band Members Arrested in FAMU Hazing Death Not Students

At least three of the famed Marching 100 band arrested in the hazing death of Florida A&M drum major Robert Champion were not enrolled as students at the school or any neighboring campus, the Tallahassee Democrat is reporting.

The band -- predominately comprised of FAMU students, with members also coming from Tallahassee Community College and Florida State University -- remains on an indefinite suspension.

Gov. Rick Scott said Monday he isn’t going to take any action over James H. Ammons, the FAMU president, until he sees how the FAMU board of trustees handles the leadership at the Tallahassee school following the charges being issued.
