Two Michigan Firms Told to Stop Selling Insurance in Florida

iWorld Financial Group (iWorld) and United Defend Co., aka United Defendco (UDC), have been ordered to stop selling insurance in Florida.

Florida Insurance Commissioner Kevin McCarty issued an order for the two Grandville, Mich., firms to cease and desist engaging in the unauthorized and unlicensed sale of insurance.

According to a release from the Office of Insurance Regulation, iWorld and UDC used Facebook and a website to offer, issue and administer errors and omissions coverage to insurance agents in Florida without a license.

Both companies have 21 days to respond to the order.

Consumers can use OIR’s website to determine if a company is authorized to sell insurance in Florida.
