The cross-country ferry flight of the space shuttle Endeavour -- initially planned for Monday but moved to Tuesday due to the anticipation of bad weather -- is now set for Wednesday.

“The decision was made to ensure a safe flight for Endeavour and the Shuttle Carrier Aircraft,” NASA posted on its Website on Monday afternoon. “A low pressure front in the northern Gulf of Mexico is generating thunderstorms along the predicted flight path.”

A briefing on the flight will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday.

The final shuttle built, Endeavour is heading to the California Science Center in Los Angeles.
