U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wisc., is going to bat for a congressman in South Florida and Democrats are looking to make an issue of it.

On Monday, Ryan sent out a fundraising email on behalf of U.S Rep. Carlos Curbelo, R-Fla., who is expected to be a top target for Democrats in the 2016 elections.

In the email, Ryan insisted the stakes were high in November.

“Will we continue down the path of President Obama’s failed liberal policies, or will we chart a new course towards a smaller and more responsible government?" Ryan asked. “To help chart this new course, we need principled conservative leaders in Congress like Carlos Curbelo.
“Nancy Pelosi is furiously fundraising for his opponent," Ryan added. “It should surprise no one that his race was recently rated a ‘pure toss up’ and is one of the most competitive in the nation.

“I know Carlos is exactly the type of leader that can make a difference for our nation, but Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi have targeted him in their effort to retake the house next year,” Ryan insisted.

Former Miami Dade County Democratic Party Chairwoman Annette Taddeo, best known for being former Gov. Charlie Crist’s running mate in the 2014 gubernatorial race, is running for the Democratic nomination against Curbelo and has reeled in much of the support of her party’s leadership. Despite that former U.S. Rep. Joe Garcia, D-Fla., who Curbelo beat in 2014, and businessman Andrew Korge are looking at running for the Democratic nomination.

Taddeo’s team looked to rally its supporters on Tuesday, forwarding the message from Ryan and noting it shows what's at stake in the race.

“We knew Speaker Paul Ryan would do whatever it takes to keep his pal Rep. Carlos Curbelo in Congress,” Taddeo’s team fired back before urging supporters to back their candidate to “turn South Florida blue.”

Amazing, her campaign is based on turning the district blue, not what she'll do to improve it. Shows she's more interested in cowering to her DC-overlord Pelosi than actually doing anything to represent it.

You are so right, Kevin. Since 2008, she has run for significantly different elected positions at every level of government - Local, State and Federal - and lost! She doesn't have a realistic view of the world, let alone the issues we're facing today. She can only speak with her "Master's Voice" (Read: "Rubber Stamper"). She's not interested in serving the public, only herself. Her past proves it. She's only interested the "Title." Some people just can't take a hint...

Of course Ryan would "double-down" on Carlos Curbelo,...NO surprise there,..they're "cut from the SAME RINO cloth": Curbelo voted to fund Obama's Illegal "amnesty" AND he voted AGAINST cutting funds (including via the Justice Dept) for "Sanctuary Cities".. Annette Taddeo 'imprints' Charlie "The Tuna" Crist on my mind every time I see her or hear her I'll sit this one out short of a qualified candidate showing up. Speaker Paul Ryan has already shown his "colors" in a very short time...He's "Boehner-Lite" and will continue to fold like the proverbial "cheap suit" (and how about that muslim-appeasement beard he's growing ?!?!?

Democrats are so hypocritical. It's perfectly all right for Nancy Pelosi and Debbie Schultz to stump for and raise funds for Taddeo, but it's unfair for Paul Ryan to do the same for a House ally and sitting Congressman?

Quite the contrary, how much more damage will the Dems inflict on us?! Haven't we learned through bitter tears, during these last 7 years, that Socialism has and continues to fail throughout the world and appeasement and weakness will only invite aggression and terrorism...and we want the "Poster Child" for these failed policies elected to Congress?! Please, are we that stupid? I don't think so.

Palm Beach, Broward and Dade Counties. Two boroughs of New York and a third world country. They should be annexed into other states. Good riddance. But for these counties, Florida voters can actually cast votes and and elected officials can count votes.

Omg not more republicans.
