Did Gaetz mean to offend black lawmakers? ‘Certainly not’ he says

TALLAHASSEE — Senate President Designate Don Gaetz, R-Niceville, said “no offense was meant” in his remarks last night that several Democratic lawmakers have said were racially insensitive.
“None of the three legislators had called me or spoken to me in any way. I’m sorry if offense was taken,” he said. “Those who know me and those who work with me are well aware that no offense was meant. ”
