Gov. Rick Scott nearly misses 2012 Florida State Fair opening

Gov. Rick Scott nearly missed the opening of the 2012 Florida State Fair Thursday morning, arriving seconds after members of the Cabinet flipped a large gray and red switch and turned on the lights.
Flanked by a Ferris wheel, merry-go-round and Tilt-a-Whirl, Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater and Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam officially opened the fair at 6:37 a.m.
"Lights on," Putnam said. "Welcome to the Florida State Fair."
