At halfway point, Florida legislators are houses divided

TALLAHASSEE – On one side of the Florida Capitol rotunda Friday, House lawmakers were busily passing redistricting maps. They had already crafted a $69-billion budget teed up for final passage next week and hours earlier killed the most heavily lobbied bill of the session – a destination casino proposal that had divided industry groups and major Florida employers.
