PolitiJax: Bill would give authority to city to shutter JEDC

State Rep. Lake Ray, R-Jacksonville, has filed a bill that could lead to the Jacksonville Economic Development Commission closing up shop.
The move was sought by Mayor Alvin Brown as part of his reorganization of city government. Changing JEDC requires the Legislature to act because the commission is in the city’s charter.
