Florida finally received the $25 million BP promised it would give to advertise that Florida’s beaches are unsullied by oil, Gov. Charlie Crist announced Tuesday afternoon. The money came less than eight hours after the Cabinet and one senior senator slammed Crist for not doing enough to expedite receipt of the oil company's check.

Attorney General Bill McCollum thinks the best way to move forward with job creation and business growth in Florida is to replace the state office that oversees economic development.

If elected this fall, the Republican gubernatorial hopeful has plans to overhaul and rebrand the governor’s Office of Tourism, Trade and Economic Development (OTTED). It was a subject that came up in a big way as McCollum campaigned Tuesday morning at the Danfoss Turbocor factory in Tallahassee.

Attorney General Bill McCollum, locked in a bitter contest with health-care executive Rick Scott for the Republican gubernatorial nomination, focused on immigration Wednesday in Orlando, proposing a new law similar to one that passed in Arizona. The Scott campaign, meanwhile, fired back with a new commercial, quoting McCollum saying he supported bringing the Arizona law to Florida and then showing the attorney general saying just the opposite.
