A Nevada company that once promoted plans for orbiting space hotels signed an agreement with Space Florida Wednesday to conduct launches at Cape Canaveral.

Virgin Galactic officials are, officially, mum about the prospects of bringing the company's space operations to Florida, but owner Richard Branson wasn't so circumspect during a swing through Orlando this week.
While Sen. Bill Nelson pushes his "compromise" plan for space exploration, private entrepreneurs are moving ahead with ventures that threaten to leave Florida and NASA eating stardust.
