Gov.-elect Rick Scott spent Sunday night at the Governor’s Mansion, up early enough to walk his dog Reagan, a yellow labrador, around the grounds. Reagan was obtained from a shelter during the campaign.

When it comes to parties, Karen Thurman is no Jim Greer. But spending by the Florida Democratic Party has rebounded solidly after the FDP's near-death experience in 2004.

Under FDP Chairman Thurman, the party spent $46.3 million from 2007-2009, according to internal financial reports.

Seeking higher ground in the investigation of the Republican Party's deepening financial swamp, Gov. Charlie Crist could end up sinking his own U.S. Senate campaign.

Crist's call for a federal probe of party credit-card use "may end up working as well as the rest of his campaign tacks — in other words, it may backfire," Robert Costa of National Review wrote Wednesday.

We're two weeks into the BIG change in the Republian Party of Florida -- the election of Sen. John Thrasher, R-St. Augustine, as chairman of the RPOF. So, how is the state’s GOP boss doing?

Attorney General Bill McCollum is doing quite well, thank you.

It was McCollum who decided the party could no longer afford to keep party chairman Jim Greer, following media revelations that party funds may have been mishandled.  And, it was McCollum who enlisted the help of Sen. Mike Haridopolos, R-Merritt Island, and Rep. Dean Cannon, R-Winter Park, when it came time to ease a reluctant and combative Greer out the door.
