Too soon old, too late schmart -- a German saying I just bastardized, but it fits the cagey customers negotiating in Miami for Genting. 

With the announcement by the Genting Group and others to petition the state Legislature to allow for a broadening of gambling in South Florida, a focused objective public policy discussion on this possible “new industry” must be undertaken. 

It's time for Florida to re-examine its fear of gambling and put it where it can do the state some good -- in smart, high-class state-of-the-art casinos.
